images + rural stories

Not your typical photographer. Most of the time I don’t even claim myself as a photographer. I am a storyteller, as I capture our family’s life and views of what it’s like to farm. Although, I have to add a disclaimer: As beautiful as these photos are (biased opinion), the farm life can be dirty, frugal and testing on most days. Especially when 5 men and 1 woman, of 2 generations put food on the table for the family and the world.

(Chesnut Farms) Agrifilm, is based out of Kersey, Colorado (but I do travel occasionally to surrounding areas). I am the wife of Chesnut Farms’ oldest son and found a passion for capturing our everyday lives back in 2018 when my husband was gifted a drone. As one thing led to the next, the drone did not get used for its original investment of monitoring crops but for purely entertainment (but no one is complaining). Today, I tend to annoy the boys by constantly being in the way and snapping photos then showcase the life on our social media feeds

I am also blessed to have many opportunities of bringing life to other agriculturalists stories and sharing our story into your home. I hope you enjoy taking a peak at my photos into the life of farming that you may live and appreciate as well, or as just a consumer considering it as a touchable picture book.

“Just keep taking photos, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks because one day your kids will appreciate it more than you do to see the way you operated the farm and fed the world.”
